   A place for singeing slaughtered swine, Ar.Eq.1236 (pl.).    II roasted barley, from which ἄλφιτα were made, Paus.Gr.Fr.184, cf. EM90.31.    2 a kind of pulse, PTeb.9.14, 11.9 (ii B. C.).
