   A to be suffered, E.Ph.1210: c. inf., ἐατέος ἐστὶ φεύγειν Hdt.8.108, cf. Pl.R.401b.    2 ἐατέον one must suffer, E.HF 173, etc.    II to be let alone or given up, ἐ. ὁ πλοῦτος Id.Hel.905, cf. Ph.1.564.    2 τὴν πόλιν ἐατέον τῆς κατοικίσεως we must let it alone as to foundation, Pl.Lg.969c; one must dismiss from one's mind, Id.Grg.512e; one must omit, Str.2.5.18.
