aor. ἀνέβην, mid. aor. ἀνεβήσετο, aor. 1 part. ἀναβησάμενοι: go up, ascend (to), οὐρανόν, ὑπερώιον, etc.; φάτις ἀνθρώπους ἀνα βαίνει, ‘goes abroad among’ men, Od. 6.29; esp. go on board ship, embark, Il. 1.312 and often, ἐς Τροίην ἀναβημέναι, ‘embark for Troy,’ Od. 1.210; trans., aor. 1 mid., νὼ ἀναβησάμενοι, ‘taking us on board their ship,’ Od. 15.475. ;;: see ἀναβ-.
