   A trochanter, i. e. either of two processes at the head of the thigh bone, Gal.UP15.8, cf. Id.2.309, 312, Epigr. ap. S.E.M.1.316sq.    II part of the stern of a ship, Hsch.    III an instrument of torture, LXX4 Ma.8.13 (v.l. -τήρια).
