1. το σπέρμα τών πυρηνόκαρπων δέντρων και τών σταφυλιών
2. ο σκληρός πυρήνας, ο σπόρος οποιουδήποτε καρπού
3. ελάχιστη ποσότητα, μόριο, ίχνος («δεν έχει μυαλό κουκούτσι» — είναι βλάκας).
[ΕΤΥΜΟΛ. < ιταλ. cucuzza. Κατ' άλλη άποψη < κόκκος + κατάλ. -ούτσι].
