τίς γὰρ ἁδονᾶς ἄτερ θνατῶν βίος ποθεινὸς ἢ ποία τυραννίς; τᾶς ἄτερ οὐδὲ θεῶν ζηλωτὸς αἰών → What human life is desirable without pleasure, or what lordly power? Without it not even the life of the gods is enviable.

   A which draws by the trace only (being harnessed by the side of the pair under the yoke, οἱ ζύγιοι), trace-horse: hence metaph., sts. yoke-mate, coadjutor, A.Ag.842; sts. one who has light work, ib.1640, cf. Ar.Nu.1300; σ. [κάμηλος] attached like a trace-horse, Hdt.3.102.    II carrying a lasso, v. σειρά 1.3.
