Χῑρων (-ων, -ωνος, -ωνι, -ωνα: Χείρ- codd., corr. Schr.: sed v. West ad Theog., 1001) a centaur (v. φήρ), son of Kronos and Philyra (cf. (P. 2.44)ff.), married to Chariklo; teacher of Jason, Achilles, Asklepios, dwelling in a cave on Mt. Pelion in Thessaly.
