[ΕΤΥΜΟΛ. Η λ. συνδέεται με το λωγάνιον και εμφανίζει επίθημα -ας, -άδος, ενώ για την παρόμοια σημασιολογική εξέλιξη, από «δέρμα» με σημ. «πόρνη», πρβλ. κασαλβάς, κασαυράς, κασωρίς, λατ. scortum. Επίσης συνδέεται με τον τ. λωγάλιοι.
