   A artaba, = 1 medimnus + 3 choenices, Hdt.1.192; or exactly 1 medimnus, Suid., Hsch.    II Egvptian measure of capacity, varying from 24 to 42 χοίνικες, OGI90.30 (Rosetta), PLond.2.265 (i A. D.), POxy.9v8 (iii/iv A.D.), etc.

ἀρτάβη: ἡ, μέτρον Περσικὸν χωροῦν κατὰ τὸν Ἡρόδ. ἕνα μέδιμνον Ἀττικὸν καὶ τρεῖς χοίνικας, ἡ δὲ ἀρτάβη, μέτρον ἐὸν Περσικὸν χωρέει μεδίμνου Ἀττικῆς πλεῖον χοίνιξι τρισὶ Ἀττικῇσι Ἡρόδ. 1. 192· κατὰ Σουΐδ., καὶ Ἡσύχ. «ἀρτάβη· μέτρον Μηδικὸν σίτου, Ἀττικὸς μέδιμνος». - Ὑπάρχει ὡσαύτως καὶ Αἰγυπτία ἀρτάβη = Ἀττ. μετρητῇ Ἐπιγρ.
