[τυμπ- is read against the metre in E. l.c., A. l.c. codd.Str., Diog. l.c. codd. Ath.] II = τύμπανον 11, ὁ ἀπὸ τοῦ τ. nickname of one Lysimachus who at the last moment escaped execution, Arist. l. c.; ἄξιοί εἰσι τυχεῖν πάντες ἑνὸς τ. AP11.160 (Lucill.); τύπανα is metrically possible in Ar.Pl.476, and is required there by the alphabetical order in Suid., as is τύπανον in Hsch. III = crusta, Gloss.
