   A motion from a place, as in Λεσβόθεν, Ἀβυδόθεν, ἄλλοθεν, οἴκοθεν, etc.: so with Preps., ἀπὸ Τροίηθεν Od.9.38; ἐξ οὐρανόθεν Il.8.19, cf. A.D.Adv.184.12 sq.: most of the forms in -οθεν were parox., exc. οἴκοθεν, ἄλλοθεν, πάντοθεν (sts. παντόθεν) , ἔκτοθεν, ἔνδοθεν, ib.191.27 sq. (other exceptions in Hdn.Gr.1.500).

[Seite 1195] Suffixum, an Nomina gehängt, die Bewegung von einem Orte her, weg bezeichnend, οἴκοθεν, οὐρανόθεν, vom Hause, vom Himmel her, vgl. πόθεν; seltener von Personen, Διόθεν, θεόθεν, von Zeus, von den Göttern. Bei den Dichtern tritt auch noch ἐκ u. ἀπό dazu, z. B. ἐξ οὐρανόθεν, Il. 8, 19, ἀπὸ Τροίηθεν, Od. 9, 38. – In einigen Wörtern steht dafür auch θε, ἔντοσθε, ὄπισθε, πάροιθε.
