   A = ἄμικτος 111, inhospitable, epith. of Lemnos in Il.24.753, h.Ap.36: otherwise expl. as smoky, from the volcano Mosychlos, cf. ὁμίχλη. (Cypr. acc. to Sch. Il. l.c.)

ἀμιχθαλόεις: εσσα, εν, (μίγνυμι, μιχθῆναι) ἐπίθετ. τῆς Λήμνου ἐν Ἰλ. Ω. 753, Ὕμν. Ὁμ. εἰς Ἀπόλλ. 36, ἀπροσπέλαστος, ἀπρόσιτος, ἄξενος ὡς τὸ ἄμικτος ΙΙΙ, τῆς ὁποῖας λέξεως φαίνεται ὅτι εἶναι ἕτερος τύπος ἐκτεταμένος· ἄλλοι ἐσφαλμένως ἑρμηνεύουσιν αὐτὴν ὁμιχλώδης.
