   A not to be borne, insufferable, πένθος, ἄχος, Il.9.3, 19.367, cf. Orac. ap. Hdt.5.56, Pi.O.6.38; ἀγγελία S.Aj. 223 (lyr.).    2 not to be dared, ἄτλητα τλᾶσα A.Ag.408 (lyr.).    II Act., incapable of bearing, impatient of, c. gen., μόθων ἄ. AP9.321 (Antim. ?). Adv. -τως, φέρειν Ael.NA16.28.
