ὑπέρεικος: ἡ, (ἐρείκη) «θάμνος φρυγανοειδής, σπιθαμιαῖος, ὑπέρυθρος, ἄνθος ἔχων λευκοΐῳ ὅμοιον, ὃ διατριβὲν ἐν τοῖς δακτύλοις αἱματώδη τὸν χυμὸν ἐκκρίνει· ὅθεν καὶ ἀνδρόσαιμον ἐκλήθη» Διοσκ. 3. 161 (171) ἔνθα: ὑπερικόν, τό. - «κόψας οὐρείην ὑπέρεικον» Νικ.
