πρόκοττα: ἢ προκόττα, ἡ, Δωρ. λέξις ἀντὶ προκόμιον, Πολυδ. Β΄, 29· «προκότταν· τὴν πρὸ τῆς κεφαλῆς τρίχωσιν· κοττὶς γὰρ παρὰ τοῖς Δωριεῦσιν ἡ κεφαλὴ λέγεται» Φώτ.· «εἶδος κουρᾶς· ἢ κεφαλῆς τρίχωμα» κτλ. Ἡσύχ., ἔνθα καὶ «προκοττίς· χαίτη».
