Luc. pro laps. 8 σώους hat; auch das ion. σόος scheint nur im nom. u. acc. sing. plur. aller drei Geschlechter gebräuchlich gewesen zu sein. – Heil, gesund, unverletzt, wohlbehalten, mit heiler Haut; bes. von Menschen, Hom., dann auch von Sachen, ganz, unversehrt, unbeschädigt, αἱ πέδαι ἔτι καὶ εἰς ἐμὲ ἦσαν σῶαι, Her. 1, 66. σῶα ἀποδιδοναι τὰ χρἠματα, Xen.
