τά, (μέλπω) means of playing, plaything: Hom. (only in Il.) always in plural, of an unburied corpse, sport, plaything, κυνῶν μέλπηθρα γένοιτο a sport of dogs, 13.233; κυσὶν μέλπηθρα γενέσθαι 17.255.
