περᾱτής: -οῦ, ὁ, (περάω) = πορθμεύς, Σουΐδ. ἐν λ. πορθμεὺς (ἔνθα φέρεται περάτης). ΙΙ. ὁ περὼν ἀπὸ τόπου εἰς τόπον, ἢ ὁ πέραν τοῦ ποταμοῦ τὴν κατοίκησιν ἔχων, ἀπήγγειλεν Ἀβραὰμ τῷ περάτῃ (περαΐτῃ Ἀκύλ.) Ἑβδ. (Γένεσ.) ΙΔ΄ 13.· «ἐπειδὴ γὰρ πέραν τοῦ Εὐφράτου τὴν κατοίκησιν εἶχε, διὰ τοῦτο καὶ περάτης ἐλέγετο» (Ἰω. Χρυσ. τ. 1, σ. 284, 14), Φίλων 1. 439. - περὶ τοῦ τονισμοῦ τῆς λέξεως ὁ Ἀρκάδ. (26, 24) λέγει: «τὸ δὲ θεατὴς ἢ περατὴς ῥηματικὰ ὄντα ὀξύνεται», ἀλλ’ ἐν τοῖς Ἀντιγράφοις ἔνθα ἀπαντᾷ ἡ λέξις φέρεται παροξυτόνως περάτης.
