   A a cooling, chilling; χιόνος ἢ ἄλλης ψύξιος means of cooling, v.l. in Hp.VM16.    2 a being or becoming cold, ψ. νεηνικωτάτη ib.16; αἵματος ἐν ψύξει ὄντος Pl.Ti.85d: pl., opp. καύσεις, Id.Tht.156b; opp. θερμότητες, Lg.897a, Arist.GA777b27.    II = πνοή, Hsch.    III metaph., ψύξεις πράξεων difficulty, embarrassment, Vett.Val.191.4, cf. 42.18; ψ. πραγμάτων Heph.Astr.2.31.
