Landstadt, I) im Ggstz. zur Hauptstadt: municipium, kleine, municipiolum, municipium parvum (bei den Römern eine Stadt, die das röm. Bürgerrecht, aber, wie unsere Landstädte, ihre eigene Rechtspflege hatte). – oppidum, kleine, oppidulum, oppidum parvum (jeder befestigte Ort im Lande übh.). – II) im Ggstz. zur Seestadt: oppidum mediterraneum.
