(ἁλωνίζω, ραβδίζω). Ἀπό τό ἀλωή, δωρ. ἀλωά καί ἀττ. ἅλως (=ἁλώνι) πού παράγεται ἀπό τήν ἴδια ρίζα αλ- τοῦ ἀλέω (=ἀλέθω). Παράγωγα ἀπό ἴδια ρίζα: ἀλόησις (=ἁλώνισμα), ἀλοητέος, ἀλοητής (=ἁλωνιστής), ὁ ἀλοητός (=ἁλώνισμα), ἀλοιάω (ἐπικ. τοῦ ἀλοάω), ἀλοίησις, ἀλοιητήρ, ἐπαλώστης (=αὐτός πού ὁδηγεῖ τά βόδια κατά τό ἁλώνισμα), πατραλοίας μητραλοίας (=αὐτός πού δέρνει ἤ σκοτώνει τόν πατέρα τή μητέρα του).
