ὁμοίιος, -ον (Α)
(για τα γηρατειά, τον πόλεμο και τον θάνατο) κακός, ολέθριος ή αυτός που είναι κοινός για όλους.
[ΕΤΥΜΟΛ. Επίθ. αβέβαιης σημ. και ετυμολ. Η λ. σήμαινε αρχικώς «αυτός που είναι κοινός, όμοιος για όλους» και αποτελεί επικ. εκτεταμένο τ. του επιθ. ὁμοῖος (πρβλ. γελοίιος: γελοῖος). Κατ' άλλους, η λ. έχει τη σημ. «κακός, ολέθριος» και προέρχεται από αμάρτυρο ὀμο-Fιος < ομο-Fā, τ. ο οποίος συνδέεται με αρχ. ινδ. amĭvā «πόνος, βάσανο, ενόχληση» (πρβλ. ανία)].
