A. 9, 12 ein schwarzer Raubvogel, von der Größe des Taubenslößers, der in Gebirgen haus't und sich selten zeigt, wie der große Goldadler, der Nachthabicht od. eine Eulenart; Einige leiten den Namen von seiner Kupferfarbe, Andere von der starken Stimme her. – 2) ein Fisch, wahrscheinlich von der Gattung des Herings, clupea; Arist.
