Eurystheus, son of Sthenelus, and king of Mycēnae; by a trick of Hera upon Zeus, Eurystheus was born to power over Heracles, and imposed upon him the celebrated labors, Il. 19.103 ff., 123 ff., Od. 8.363, Od. 11.620.
