ὀψωνάτωρ: -ωρος, ὁ, ἀγοραστής, ὁ τὰ ὄψα ὠνούμενος, ὁ ὑπὸ τοῦ Ἀριστοφάνους ὀψώνης καλούμενος, Ἀθήν. 171Α. ― Ἐν τοῖς Βεκκήρου Ἀνεκδ. (339, 14) φέρεται, «ἀγοραστήν: τὸν τὰ ὄψα ὠνούμενον, ὃν οἱ Ρωμαῖοι ὀψωνιάτωρα καλοῦσιν», ἀνθ’ οὗ ὀρθότερον εἶναι τὸ παρ’ Ἀθηναίῳ ὀψωνάτωρα, διότι Λατινιστὶ λέγεται obsonator, οὐχὶ odsoniator, ἴδε Κόντου Γλωσσ.
