Etymology: Formation in -θε(ν), -θα, because of the meaning and spread hardly with Kretschmer Glotta 1, 55 from πρός, but rather from πρό with analog. -σ- (πρό-θεν only Greg. Cor.). Example hardly ὄπισθεν, as this seems to stand itself for ὄπι-θεν (rather the other way round ὄπισθεν after πρόσθεν). So after ἔκτοσ-θε(ν), ἔντοσ-θε(ν) (cf. Schwyzer 628) or to πρόσ(σ)-ω (cf. WP. 2, 38)? Extensive Lejeune Adv. en -θεν 333 ff.
