   A strong shoe coming up to the ankle, half-boot, used by country people, hunters, travellers, A.Ag.944, Fr.259, E.Or. 1470 (lyr.); πηλοπατίδες ἀ. Hp.Art.62; αὐταῖσιν ἀρβύλαισιν ἁρμόσας πόδα with shoes and all, E.Hipp.1189 (wrongly expld. by Eust. as = δίφρος, the stand of the charioteer), cf. Ba.1134; cf. ἄρμυλα.
