ἀμοθεί: Ἐπίρρ. ἐν Θουκ. 5. 77, ἐκ συμβατηρίου ἐγγράφου μεταξὺ Λακεδαιμον. καὶ Ἀργείων, πιθ. (ἐκ τοῦ α στερ. καὶ μόθος), ἄνευ φιλονικίας ἢ φατριασμοῦ, ἀστασιάστως, ἴδε Ahrens π. Δωρ. Διαλ. σ. 481. ― Ὁ τύπος εἰς -ει ὑποστηρίζεται ὑπὸ Θεογνώστ. Καν. σ. 165· «τὰ εἰς θει ἐπιρρήματα διὰ τῆς ει διφθόγγου γράφονται, οἷον ἀμοθεί, ἀμοχθεὶ κτλ.·» ὥστε ἡ γραφὴ ἀμόθι = ἀμοῦ γέπου (πρβλ. οὐδαμόθι) δὲν δύναται νὰ ὑποστηριχθῇ.
