(the root of διδάσκω), aor. 2 act. δέδαε, aor. 2 pass. ἐδάην, subj. δαείω, δαῶμεν, inf. δαῆναι, δαήμεναι, fut. δαήσομαι, perf. δεδάηκα, part. δεδαώς, δεδαηκότες, mid. aor. inf. δεδάασθαι: (1) teach, only aor. 2 act. δέδαε (τινά τι), Od. 6.233, Od. 8.448, Od. 22.160, w. inf., Od. 20.72.—(2) learn, be instructed, the other forms; w. gen., πολέμοιο δαήμεναι, ‘become skilled in,’ Il. 21.487 ; ἐμεῦ δαήσεαι, ‘from me,’ Od. 19.325; w. acc. οὐ δεδαηκότες ἀλκήν, Od. 2.61; δεδάασθαι γυναῖκας, ‘find out,’ Od. 16.316.
