(κῆνος ὤνηρ Alc. Supp. 25.6), and ἐκεῖνος may precede or follow the Subst., ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ Th. 1.20, Pl. Phd. 57a ; τὴν στρατείαν ἐ., τὸν ἄνδρ' ἐ., Th. 1.10, Ar. Pax649 : in Poets the Art. is freq. omitted, ἤματι κείνῳ Il. 2.37, etc. ; but when this is the case in Prose, ἐκεῖνος follows the Subst., ἡμέρας ἐκείνης Th. 3.59, etc.    II Adv. ἐκείνως in that case, Id.1.77, 3.46 ; in that way, Hp.Fract. 27 ; ζῆν Pl.
