Briefe II p. 276, weil er den Stieren an niedrigen Meerufern Weide giebt, oder, nach der gewöhnlichsten Ansicht, weil er, wie die Flußgötter, mit einem Stierhaupte oder wenigstens mit Stierhörnern dargestellt wurde, obwohl sich dies durchaus nicht nachweisen läßt.
