Rise from one's seat in honour of a person: Ar. and P. ὑπανίστασθαι (dat.) (Xen.). Rise from bed: P. and V. ἀνίστασθαι, ἐξανίστασθαι, V. ἐπαντέλλειν (Aesch., Ag. 27). Awake: P. and V. ἐγείρεσθαι, ἐξεγείρεσθαι. Rise from the dead: P. and V. ἀνίστασθαι, V. ἐξανέρχεσθαι. Go up: P. and V. ἀνέρχεσθαι. Ascend: P. and V. αἴρεσθαι, ἄνω φέρεσθαι.
