[Seite 328] (ὀλύρα ist falscher Accent, Arcad. p. 194), ἡ, gew. im plur. αἱ ὄλυραι, Bekk, Poll. 7, 21 ὀλῦραι, eine Getreideart, die in der Il. 5, 196 u. 8, 564 (ὀλύρας) als Pferdefutter neben Gerste, κρῖ, genannt wird; nach Her. 2, 77, ἐκ τῶν ὀλυρέων ποιεῦνται ἄρτους, von den Aegyptiern zum Brotbacken gebraucht (vgl. Ath. III, 109 c); nach 2, 36 auch ζειά genannt (ἀπὸ ὀλυρέων ποιεῦνται σιτία, τὰς ζειὰς μετεξέτεροι καλέουσι); ὑπὲρ τῶν μελινῶν καὶ τῶν ὀλυρῶν ἐν τοῖς Θρᾳκίοις σιροῖς Dem. 8, 45. Doch wird sie auch von ζειά, wie von κριθή und πυρός unterschieden, Theophr. und Diosc.; vielleicht das Einkorn oder Emmerkorn. Nach Buttm. Lexil. II p. 198 mit ὀλαί, οὐλαί verwandt.
