3) убывать, спадать (ὁ Νεῖλος ὑπονοστεῖ Plut.): ἡ θάλασσα τὸ μὲν κατέκλυσε, τὸ δ᾽ ὑπενόστησεν Thuc. море одну часть (города) затопило, а с другой отхлынуло;
4) переходить, перерождаться: τὸ θαυμαζόμενον εἰς χλευασμὸν ὑπονοστεῖ Plut. то, что вызывало удивление, становится предметом насмешек.
