φυλή τών Λοκρών που ονομάστηκε έτσι, πιθανώς λόγω της πολύ έντονης οσμής τών θειούχων πηγών που υπήρχαν στην περιοχή τους ή επειδή ζούσαν μαζί με αιγοβοσκούς και φορούσαν κατσικήσια δέρματα τα οποία ανέδιδαν άσχημη μυρωδιά.
