Cyr. 3, 2, 1 u. sonst noch einzeln bei Sp., wie Matth. 2, 8 findet, = dem im Att. gebräuchlicheren ἐπειδάν, welches zu vergleichen; nachdem, sobald; c. conj., Hom. Od. 14, 130; Her. 2, 40 ll. d., in den anderen Stellen ἐπεάν); in indirecter Rede, ὑπέσχετο δώσειν –, ἐπὰν εἰς Βαβυλῶνα ἥκωσι, wenn sie nach B. gekommen sein würden, Xen.
