Ath.7.309f:—sumach, Rhus coriaria, Dsc. l.c. 2 its fruit, Sol.41, Antiph.142.2, Alex.127.6, PCair.Zen.83.4, 702.29 (iii B.C.); used in medicine, Hp. ll. cc.:—the fruit of one kind (ῥ. Συριακή Gal.19.741; ῥ. ἐρυθρός Hp.Mul.1.31, Gal.12.353, cf. 922) was used as a spice:— of another, in tanning, ῥ. βυρσοδεψική Hp.Mul.1.78; σκυτοδεψικός Ruf. ap. Orib.8.24.3.
