οἰσπώτη: ἡ, οἰῶν κόπρος, ἰδίως ἡ κόπρος ἥτις προσκολλᾶται εἰς τὰ ὀπίσθια τῶν προβάτων, Κρατῖνος ἐν «Διονυσαλεξάνδρῳ» 6, Ἀριστοφ. Λυσ. 575, Δίων Κ. 46. 5, Πολυδ. Ε΄, 91· - εἰς τὴν λέξιν ταύτην, φαίνεται ἀνήκει ἡ τοῦ Γαλην. γλῶσσα ἐν τῷ Λεξ. Ἱππ., ὁ ... ταῖς κατὰ τὴν ἕδραν [θριξὶ] συνιστάμενος ῥύπος, ἂν καὶ ἡ ἑρμηνεία αὕτη δίδεται εἰς τὴν λέξιν οἴσπη. Οἱ Γραμματικοὶ ὅμως φαίνεται ὅτι ὀλίγην διάκρισιν ἔκαμνον μεταξὺ τῶν λέξεων οἰσύπη (ἢ οἴσπη) καὶ οἰσπώτη, ἴδε Σουΐδ. ἐν λέξ., Ἡσύχ. - Κατὰ τον Ἀρκάδ. 114, ὁ ὀρθὸς τονισμὸς εἶναι οἰσπωτή, ὡς ἐν ταῖς λέξεσι: κηρωτή, μηλωτή.
