   A fearless, εἴ περ ἀδειής τ' ἐστί, of Hector, Il.7.117; κύον ἀδεές 8.423, Od.19.91: c. gen., ἀ. θανάτου Pl.R.386b, cf. Arist.EN1115a33; ἐν θαλάττῃ καὶ ἐν νόσοις ἀ. ὁ ἀνδρεῖος 1115b1.    2 without anxiety, secure, τὸ ἀ. security, Th.3.37; ἀ. δέος δεδιέναι to fear where no fear is, Pl.
