English (LSJ)

   A close-woven, only in gen. pl. fem., καιροσέων ὀθονέων ἀπολείβεται ὑγρὸν ἔλαιον Od.7.107. (Archaic spelling of καιρουσσέων (trisyll.), Ion. gen. pl. of καιρόεις, like Τειχιόσης for Τειχιούσσης in SIG3d (Milet., vi B.C.).)

German (Pape)

[Seite 1297] ὀθονέων ἀπολείβεται ὑγρὸν ἔλαιον, Od. 7, 107, von dem dichtgeketteten, dichtgewebten Linnen tröpfelt das Oel ab; man leitet das Wort gewöhnlich von καῖρος, καιρόεις ab, wo es denn für καιροεσσῶν stehen soll; alte v. l. scheint κροσσωτῶν gewesen zu sein.

Greek (Liddell-Scott)

γεν. ἐν Ὀδ.

French (Bailly abrégé)

gén. pl. d’un mot inconnu;
bien tressé, solidement tissu.
Étymologie: καιρός.

English (Autenrieth)

or καιροσσέων: gen. pl. fem. from an adj. καιρόεις, with many loops (καῖροι) or thrums to which the threads of the warp were attached; κ. ὀθονέων, from the fine-woven linen, Od. 7.107†.
