(σπάδων) A make flaccid, περὶ τοῖς ὀδοῦσι . . τὰς τῆς πιμελῆς κτηδόνας Sor.1.118. 2 metaph. in trans. sense, σ. τὸν ἦχον curtail, cramp, emasculate their sound, of the short vowels, D.H. Comp.14 (as v.l. for σπανίζει).
