3. χαρτί τράπουλας που έχει ως διακριτικό τρίφυλλα μαύρα σήματα (α. «άσσος σπαθί» β. «ντάμα σπαθί»)
4. (στο παιχνίδι της πασέτας) το φύλλο με το οποίο γίνεται το κόψιμο της τράπουλας
5. φρ. α) «το πήρε [ή το κέρδισε] με το σπαθί του» — λέγεται όταν κάποιος αποκτά ή κατορθώνει κάτι μόνος του, χωρίς τη βοήθεια τών άλλων
β) «κόβει το σπαθί του» — έχει πολλά και ισχυρά μέσα
γ) «είναι σπαθί» — λέγεται για άνθρωπο φερέγγυο, με ακέραιο χαρακτήρα
δ) «είναι σπαθί ξεγυμνωμένο» — είναι πολύ οργισμένος
ε) «το πρόσωπο του ανθρώπου είναι σπαθί» — η αυτοπρόσωπη παρουσία φέρνει άμεσα αποτελέσματα
