Häufig steht es, wie quamquam, absol., wiewohl, obgleich, sich auf das Vorhergehende beziehend, bes. einen Einwand ausdrückend, den der Sprechende sich selbst macht, und doch, καίτοι τί φημι; Aesch. Prom. 101; Eur. Cycl. 478; Xen. An. 1, 4, 8 Thuc. 2, 64 u. sonst in Prosa.
