[Seite 1412] ἡ, ion. ὥρη, ursprünglich eine jede bestimmte Zeit; bes. die nach gewissen Zeitabschnitten oder Zeitumläufen wiederkehrt, also – 1) die Jahreszeit im Allgemeinen; Hom. gew. im plur., die wechselnden Jahreszeiten, ὅτε τέτρατον ἦλθεν ἔτος καὶ ἐπήλυθον ὧραι Od. 2, 107. 19, 152. 24, 142, öfter; h. Ven. 102; Hes. Th. 58; Her. 1, 32 u. sonst; ὧραι Διός Pind. Ol. 4, 1; κήρυκες ὡρᾶν I. 2, 23; περιτελλομέναις ὥραις Soph. O. R. 156; vgl. Ar. Winter die ὀπώρα, der Herbst eingefügt, wo dann auf ἔαρ und ὀπώρα je zwei, auf θέρος und χειμών je vier Monate gerechnet werden, Eur. frg. inc. 143; später nimmt man sieben Jahreszeiten an : ἔαρ, θέρος, ὀπώρα, φθινόπωρον, σπορητός, χειμών, φυταλιά; Plat. Legg. X, 906 d nennt die Jahreszeiten ὧραι ἐτῶν καὶ ἐνιαυτῶν; Arist. οἱ περὶ τὴν ὥραν χρόνοι; ὥρα μηνός Eur. Alc. 445; ἐκ τῶν ὡρῶν εἰς τὰς ὥρας Ar. Th. 950; ὡρῶν καὶ ἐνιαυτοῦ Plat.
