Zuweilen ist zu ὡς ὅτε das Verbum aus dem Hauptsatze zu ergänzen, 'Ἀργεῖοι δὲ μέγ' ἴαχον, ὡς ὅτε κῦμα, Il. 2, 394. 18, 219; aber 4, 319, ἐθέλοιμι καὶ αὐτὸς ἃς ἔμεν ὡς ὅτε δῖον Ἐρευθαλίωνα κατέκταν, ist zu ὡς ein eigenes Verbum ἦν zu ergänzen, »wie ich damals war«, so daß ὅτε eine einfache Zeitbestimmung enthält; vgl. noch ἔρως φρένας ἀμφεκάλυψεν οἷον ὅ τε πρῶτόν περ ἐμισγέσθην φιλότητι, Il. 14, 295; εἰσόκε θυμὸν ἐνὶ στήθεσσι λάβητε, οἷον (sc. ἐλάβετε) ὅτε πρώτιστον ἐλείπετε πατρίδα γαῖαν, Od. 10, 462. – 4) Hom. vrbdt ὅτε auch mit μέμνημαι, wie Il. 15, 18, ἦ οὐ μέμνῃ ὅτε τ' ἐκρέμω ὑψόθεν, erinnerst du dich nicht an die Zeit, als du hingst, wo wir einfacher zu sagen pflegen »daß du hingst«; vgl. 20, 188. 21, 396; eben so ἄκουσα εὐχομένης, ὅτ' ἔφησθα, ich hörte dich rühmen, als du sagtest, 1, 397; nach λαθεῖν, 17, 627; nach μέμνημαι auch Ar. Av. 1054 Vesp. 354; u. in Prosa, Ἀθηναῖοι μεμνημένοι καὶ Πλειστοάνακτα ὅτε εἰσβαλὼν ἀπεχώρησε πάλιν, Thuc. 2, 21; μέμνημαι καὶ τοῦτο ὅτε σοῦ λέγοντος συνεδόκει καὶ ἐμοί, Xen. Cyr. 1, 6, 8; vgl. Plat. Men. 79 d; u. vollständig Lys. 18, 76: ἐκείνου τοῦ χρόνου μνησθέντας ὅτ' ἐνομίζετε, wo man ungenau sagt, daß es für ὅτι steht; τοὐναντίον ἀκούομεν ἐν ἄλλοις ὅτε οὐδὲ βοὸς ἐτολμῶμεν γεύεσθαι, Plat. Legg. VI, 782 c, vgl. Alc. II, 141 d. Auch mit οἶδα vrbdt es Eur. Hec. 112, οἶσθ' ὅτε χρυσέοις ἐφάνη ξὺν ὅπλοις, wie Hom. sagt ᾔδεα μὲν γάρ, ὅτε πρόφρων Δαναοῖσιν ἄμυνεν, Il. 14, 71. Daraus erklärt sich denn, wie Xen. Hell. 6, 5, 46 sagt τῶν ὑμετέρων προγόνων καλὸν λέγεται, ὅτε τοὺς Ἀργείων τελευτήσαντας οὐκ εἴασαν ἀτάφους γενέσθαι, es wird eine schöne That erzählt aus der Zeit, als sie, für »daß sie«; – ὅτ' ἄν, = ὅταν (s. oben), u. eben so ὅτε κεν, – ὅτε δή, und ὅτε δή ῥα, oft bei Hom., alsnun, als nun also, gewöhnlich mit dem indic., auch ὅτε κεν δή, Il. 8, 180; – ὅτε τε, wie ὅςτε u. ä. (s. τέ), das Relativum mit dem vorhergehenden Satze enger verbindend, oft bei Hom. u. Hes., auch ὅτε πέρ τε, wie Il. 4, 259, ἐν δαίθ' ὅτε πέρ τε γερούσιον αἴθοπα οἶνον κέρωνται, wenn ja auch, vgl. 10, 7, öfter; ὅτε περ allein, 5, 802. 14, 319. 323 u. öfter; Hes. Th. 291. – Auch πρίν γ' ὅτε wird verbunden, bevor, eher als, Od. 13, 322, u. πρίν γ' ὅτε δή, Il. 9, 488. 12, 437 Od. 23, 43, u. πρίν γ' ὅτ' ἄν, c. conj. aor., Od. 2, 374. 4, 477, wie auch εἰς ὅτε κεν, für die Zeit, wenn etwa, c. conj. aor., 2, 99. 19, 144. Vgl. εἰσόκε. Durch den Accent unterscheidet man hiervon
