1. glad-eyed, bright-eyed, χαροποὶ λέοντες Od., Hes.; θῆρες Soph.:—later, it denoted light-blue or grayish colour, ὄμματά μοι γλαυκᾶς χαροπώτερα πολλὸν Ἀθάνας Theocr.; also of the Germans, v. χαροπότης.
2. of the eyes of youths, sparkling with joy, joyous, gladsome, Theocr., Anth.
