Außer den oben angeführten Redensarten wird »Kopf« noch in vielen andern für das gebraucht, dessen Sitz er ist, a) für Gedanken, Vorstellung: sich etwas aus dem K. (Gedanken) schlagen, s. Gedanke a. E. (S. 1003): wie kommt dir so etwas in den K.? quī tibi istuc in mentem venit?: den Kopf verlieren, a mente deseri: den Kopf verloren haben, rationis egere.
b) Gedächtnis: memoria. – ein guter K., memoria tenax: aus dem K., ex memoria; memoriter; sine scripto (ohne Blatt, z.B. reddere): etwas im K. haben, alqd memoriā tenere: jmdm. etwas aus dem K. bringen, adducere alqm in oblivionem alcis rei.
c) Geistesfähigkeiten: ingenium (Geist). – mens (Verstand). – ein guter K., ingenium felix (ein begabter); ingenium docile. ingenii docilitas (ein gelehriger). – ein Mensch von gutem K. (od. geradezu: ein guter K.), homo felici od. docili od. acri ingenio: ein ausgezeichneter K. (Mensch), ingenium excellens oder splendidum; homo summo ingenio praeditus: ein schwacher K., s. Schwachkopf: alle großen Köpfe (Menschen), omnes magni: alle großen Köpfe seiner Zeit, ingenia saeculi sui. – den K. anstrengen, ingenii od. mentis vires intendere.
d) Sinn, Gemütsart, Neigung: animus; in genium. – ein schwacher K., animus infirmus od. imbecillus: ein unruhiger K., inquietus animus (übh.); ingenium inquietum avidumque in novas res (ein aufrührerischer; vgl. unten). – auf seinem K. bestehen, seinen K. aufsetzen, in sententia sua pertinaciterperstare, persistere: nach seinem K. handeln, seinem eigenen K. folgen, suo iudicio od. suo consilio (suis consiliis) uti; sibi od. animo suo morem gerere: bei etwas, suo ingenio facere alqd. – Daher ist »Kopf« auch = Mensch von gewisser Sinnes- od. Gemütsart, z.B. ein närrischer, wunderlicher K., mirum caput: ein unruhiger K., vir inquieti animi (übh.); homo novarum od. novandarum rerum cupidus (ein zu Neuerungen im Staate geneigter Mensch); seditiosus ac turbulentus civis (zu Aufruhr geneigter Bürger).
