Grammar: m.
Powell ClassRev. 53, 58, Shipps ebd. 58, 52).
Composita: Als Vorderglied u.a. in τραχηλοκοπέω den Hals abschneiden (Plu., Arr. u.a.; wie δειροτομέω u.a.); sehr oft als Hinterglied, z.B. περιτράχηλος um den Hals laufend (ἅλυσις, Pap. IIp) mit περιτραχήλιον, -ίδιον n. Halsband (hell. u. sp.).
Derivative: Davon 1. τραχήλια n. pl. ‘Fleischabfall, eig. vom Halse’ (Hp., Korn.). 2. -ιον n. "Halsstück", das untere Speerende (EM, Harp.). 3. -ίς· collare (Gloss.). 4. -ιαῖος vom Halse (Hippiatr., H., Eust.). 5. -ιμαῖος ib. (Str.). 6. -ιώδης halsstarrig (EM), -ώδης halsähnlich (Sch.). 7. -ίζω (ἀπο-, προσ-) ‘den Hals zurückbiegen, bloß-legen, umdrehen’, übertr. von einem Schiff dem Winde zudrehen, auch entblößen, enthüllen; überwältigen (hell. u.sp.) mit -ισμός, -ιστήρ (sp.); älter ἐκτραχηλίζω den Reiter kopfüber werfen, vom Pferde, übertr. ins Verderben stürzen (Ar., X., D. usw.) mit -ισμός (Gloss.); παλιτραχηλίζω halsstarrig sein (Pap. IIIa). 8. -ιάω den Nacken stolz gebogen tragen, stolz einhergeben (LXX u.a.; wie γαυριάω u.a.).
Schr. 380 u. 626f.).
